Due to different measurement and production processes at the V-belt manufacturers, different length specifications arise across manufacturers.
These differences do not affect the functionality of the belts.

Due to different industry standards, different parameters are used to determine the length specifications. A distinction is made between external length (Length external, short Le), internal length (Length internal, short Li) and knit length.
The knit length describes the length measurement at about 3/4 height of the belt according to DIN 2215.

Furthermore, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must also be included for reliable length measurement, as this is also an important factor in the production process.

Due to these different measurement methods, it can come to different V-belt dimensions from different manufacturers for one and the same vehicle.

The belts Dayco Power Plus are characterized by an insert of aramid fibers, which give the belt an optimally increased temperature resistance and therefore allow a lower length extension, especially when starting up, as well as have twice as large

wear resistance compared to the polyester products (line standard). The serration on the back of the belt also provides maximum flexibility, a larger surface area and better cooling of the belt during use.

Special attention is paid to the oil pump belt after a broken V-belt, especially on Piaggioscooters! By flying around parts of a broken V-belt in the engine case, the oil pump belt may have been damaged or completely destroyed.Since it sits behind the variomatic and is not immediately visible, a look behind the vario is always worthwhile to check the condition of the oil pump belt and replace it if necessary. A damaged or destroyed oil pump belt leads to a piston seizure!
